Up for bids is this Digital DECMate VT278 Terminal. This is the same
as a VT100 or VT102, except that it features a diskette interface , a 12
bit cpu, and 32k of ram. It was intended for word processing, and operation
as a terminal. It is in excellent, working condition.
It was manufactured March of 1983.
The screen is nice and bright. (The brightness is actually software
adjustable!)
All the keys work, and the keyboard is very very clean. The coiled cable
is not overstretched, and has a 1/4" jack on the end just like an Apple Lisa!
I couldn't get the exposure set right on my camera, that is why the screen
looks fuzzy.
There is some yellowing on the cabinet, but not much.
4 of the 5 rubber feet on the main unit are in place. The one in the middle
of the back is missing. It does not affect the machine's stability
All 4 on the keyboard are in place.
An original, working serial cable is included!

The system is clean and works 100%
The keyboard is very very clean. All keys work as they should.
The expansion slot cover is intact and included!
The 2 port serial card and cpu card.
Clean clean clean!
I've had that one set as my desktop background for a while :)
All feet are in place on the keyboard.
Again, the fuzziness is caused by my camera.
Setup guide on the front of the machine.
This crappy looking image shows that the screen is in fact in very good focus.
As you can see, I used the flash. That causes the text to appear dim,
which it is not.
As they say, the flash shows all. This is a very clean machine.
Don't miss your chance to own one of these vintage terminals!
You'll be hard pressed to find an original unit in this nice of shape.
Unlike other sellers I do not paint the cabinet, I only clean it with everyday
household cleaners.
Shipping will be $40 anywhere in the continental US. I will ship to other places, but please email me before you bid. The cost to ship oversees will be a lot higher.
